CBSE launches merit scholarship schemes for Single Girl Child

Bengaluru: With the idea of helping the students to excel in their academic activities the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched merit scholarship for the single girl child. Under the scheme, the parents who have single girl child can apply for this special merit scheme.

According to the CBSE officials, students studying at the +2 level are eligible for this scheme.  All the CBSE affiliated school children are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students can apply for the scholarship via online by visiting the cbse.nic.in

According to the authorities, under the scheme, every month a student will get s. 500. A Scholarship awarded under the scheme shall be paid for a maximum period of two years. Payment will be made through demand drafts/ECS.

Application form,  details and eligibility conditions are published on the board’s website cbse.nic.in at Scholarship Link. The last date for submission of online applications is 5th October 2018 and hard copy of application form (renewal only) has to be submitted on or before 31st October 2018. Hard copies received after the last date shall not be entertained.

According to the authorities, students who have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades in the CBSE Class X Examination in that year are eligible for applying. The Scholarship awarded shall be renewed for a period of one year i.e. successful completion of class XI. Renewal shall also depend on promotion to the next class provided the scholar secures 50% or more marks in aggregate in the examination which determines her promotion to the next class.  The renewal/ continuation of the scholarship, in cases where a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or if she changes the school or course of study shall be subject to prior approval of the Board. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are required for continuance of scholarship. The decision of the Board shall be final and binding in all such matters. A Scholarship once canceled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.
